Nanny Jess

I am happy to inform you all that I have finally found a new job! As much as I love traffic on 290, I could not take my commute any longer! I found this place called Teachercare that places "teacher-nannies" in homes with families that want more than a typical nanny. They found a family for me in Glen Ellyn that is great in every sense of the word. The parents are so nice and the kids are so sweet and beautiful. I did an in-home interview and basically fell in love with the idea of working for that family. They called last week and told me that they wanted to hire me and were so excited about me starting with their family:) I gave my two weeks notice here at my boring tax job last Thursday, so now it is 8 days and counting until my life gets increasingly better:) I love kids and seriously think that they are the funniest people on earth. I'm really looking forward to becoming part of this family, and really getting to know Lauren (5), Peyton (3) and Mackenzie (2). Thanks to everyone who gave support during my job search including my wonderful hubby. He's just happy I won't come home from work anymore wanting to kill someone due to road rage. Even bigger plus of this job...I get to drive a mini-van.

PUPPY!

Double blog day! Here are a couple pics of our future dog. If you do not look at this picture of the puppy and think it's the cutetst thing ever, something is wrong with you. We are so excited and cannot wait for Christmas to roll around. The breeder has been keeping us very informed about all the "mommie's." We cannot wait to be parents!

Sisser

This past weekend, T came to visit us for her fall break! It was such a great time having her around, and if she doesn't move to Chicago after she graduates, I don't know what I will do. She came in Thursday night and stayed till Sunday...the guys came over Friday night for a traditional house o' Knox fun time. T and I had Colonial with Kate and Amy, they always love seeing their "Terri." Saturday we went by the Beckers to witness T's first "live Innerfall" show. Meaning, practice in their basement. They're always great though:) Then, we got a call from my new Mom to go shopping at my fav. store of all time, "anthropologie!" So, we dumped Steve and went and had a lovely time. Sunday we went to Sonny Acres and walked around, soakin up the fall season. We didn't get a pumpkin, cause we're cheap, but we did get some yummy apple butter. To sum it all up...we had a great time. I love my wizzle and miss her so much already. I'll post a few pics soon.

Jack Bauer = #1

So, we know most of you are probably sick of hearing about our obsession with 24, but honestly, it is an addiction. For those of you that haven't fallen captive to the intoxicating power of Jack Bauer, give in. Rent the seasons. I am telling you, it will change your life. Not only will you start thinking President Palmer is really our president (if we could only be so lucky), you will wish you worked at CTU, and no matter how many times Keifer Sutherland is caught drunk driving, you will love him for it. Bottom line, watch the show, you'll love it!

Memories

This is my friend Kristen. She is
from VA, which means she is awesome.
I just recieved a voice mail from her reminding me of some hilarious memories we share. These include: sending an extrememly embarrassing picture phone message (where we sang our hearts out to a Mariah Carey song) to a boy who will remain nameless, and two: the fact that at a time in my life, I was often mistaken for the name Chester.
Another thing Kristen mentioned in this message, was that she was already displeased in my lack of blogging, though it has only been one day. So Kristen, this one's for you! Gotta love this girl.

Our first blog

Well,

As some of you know, I am occasionally bored at work. Most of the time I pass the day with facebook, myspace, allrecipies.com, aim, and blogs. And, after reading these blogs, I think to myself, "Wow, Steve and I are exciting people, we should have one." And, so...here it is. I can't promise you that this will be filled with monumental life-changing posts, or even a lot of posts, but we will try. If you are someone who has a job like mine, I know you'll enjoy it:) Here we go!
